Nate Bernstein was born on February 26, 1964 in San Francisco, California, and attended Lowell High
School in San Francisco. Nate Bernstein received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the
University of California, San Diego, where he graduated with Departmental Honors. After attending UCSD,
he clerked in the in-house legal department of the Travelers Insurance Company for a year, which solidified
his interest in litigation practice.

Mr. Bernstein attended Golden Gate University Law School in San Francisco, California, and graduated
in the top third of his class. After law school, Mr. Bernstein externed for the Honorable Kathleen March,
Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court (retired) in Los Angeles, California. In June of 1993, Mr. Bernstein
became a member of the State Bar of California.

Mr. Bernstein founded his law practice in 1994, and has practiced in the Los Angeles area since 1994.
Mr. Bernstein has worked as a volunteer attorney for the Los Angeles Free Clinic, and as Judge Pro Tem in the
Superior Court. Mr. Bernstein is an author of an article on Family Limited Partnerships and Asset Protection,
published in the Commercial Law Journal. Mr. Bernstein has been active in the Los Angeles County Bar
Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and local Democratic party politics. Mr. Bernstein has
lectured to the Collateral Lender’s Association on bankruptcy and involvency and has spoken at programs
on Chapter 13 bankruptcy practice, and bankruptcy appellate practice.

Mr. Bernstein is a member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and Valley Beth Shalom (VBS)
synagogue, located across the street from his law office. On his spare time, Mr. Bernstein enjoys participating
in athletics in the Mid Valley Athletic Club playing synagogue softball on the VBS team, and spending time
with his family.
